Tragedy is a strong word. It leaves a sense of hopelessness and absolute desperation. It speaks of intense grief and often a broken spirit.

While many have called and felt Joel’s early home going a tragedy, it is our desire as a family to see God doing something great through a very difficult situation. There are millions of people in Holland that are headed to an eternity without Christ. Without Joel and the Michel family, there is a vacant need for someone to carry the message of the gospel to this needy area. The neediness of those that are without the gospel has not changed. The need in Holland for labourers has not changed. The need for solid local churches in that country has not changed, yet the family giving their lives to that area has changed. It is our hope that through this video someone’s heart will be impacted and changed to follow the leading of the Lord to carry the message of the gospel to those needy souls in Holland.

Many over the past several months, many (including us), have asked the question “Why?”. It is a question that at this point seems to echo down a distant tunnel without response, yet we trust that God knows exactly why and has a plan to do something great through this “tragedy”. Our hope and prayer through this video is that hundreds and even thousands of believers would follow the command of Christ to pray that Christians would realize the need of the vacancies for labourers that must be filled around the world in labourers to carry the gospel message. Our prayer is also that Holland would be a specific focus of that prayer until God raises up families to fill the void that is left by the home going of Joel.

Would you make a special commitment on Monday’s to pray for Missionaries to go and reach people with the gospel. Missions on Monday. Would you take this as a simple reminder that every Monday you spend some specific time to pray that God would send forth labourers into His harvest field! Luke 10:2 “Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.” Let us know you are praying and encourage Collette and their family with your support.
